Each September, the Friends of Heart host their Annual Bike Ride to raise funds for local initiatives as part of our mission to improve cardiovascular health and care in West Tennessee at the community level. The routes, designed by Fred Sesti, offer a 15, 30, or 60-mile ride so that riders of all ability levels are able to participate and enjoy time and exercise as a community while supporting fundraising efforts for improved heart health, a matter that affects us all.
In 2021, the First Annual Bike Ride was hosted to support and raise funds for the 4-Minute City Program. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is currently one of the leading causes of death - the goal of the 4-Minute City Program is to ensure that victims of SCAs are able to access life-saving AEDs from anywhere in the city.
More than 50 riders signed up for the 2021 Bike Ride for 4-Minute City, and helped us raise over THREE THOUSAND dollars! We are appreciative beyond words for all our participants' work in making this inaugural event an overwhelming success. Look forward to the next ride in September 2022!
